Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited will organise a ‘Special Lok Adalat’ in association with the Delhi State Legal Services Authority (DSLSA) on 19th December to settle cases of direct theft and meter tampering.
The discom will organize it at Mata Sundari Lane and Rohini, sector 3 through physical and virtual mode, strictly in adherence to Covid-19 safety guidelines. A senior discom official said that the session will provide Tata Power-DDL consumers/litigants, residing in North and North-West Delhi, a one-time opportunity, for an amicable and on-the-spot settlement of their power theft cases, relating to both direct theft and meter tampering. The official further said that cases that are either pending in any Court of Law will be taken up by the Lok Adalat. Consumers desirous of settling their power theft cases can either attend in person or through their authorised representatives carrying authorisation letter, photo ID and a copy of their theft bill.
“This is the last opportunity being provided to these consumers to settle their power theft cases. In case of a default, the company will be compelled to initiate criminal proceedings against these consumers,” he added.
