Delhi Police has arrested a 35 year old active shooter of the Neeraj Bawana gang involved in a double murder case.
According to police on Sunday, the accused, identified as Raghu, was previously involved in 18 cases of murder, attempt to murder, carjacking, dacoity, robbery, arms act and was declared a proclaimed offender for evading court proceedings.
A senior police officer said that the accused was apprehended from Sonipat on Saturday. The accused was involved in gang war in Delhi in 2014 and had been an active shooter since then. “Based on a tip-off a police team nabbed him from Sonipat in Haryana,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (crime) Satish Kumar said.
He added that during interrogation he told police that he studied upto 10th standard and started working as a farmer with his family. The officer added that in 2009, he committed his first murder due to an old enmity in his native village in Hassanpur.
“On August 24, 2014, residents of one of the posh localities of the capital city i.e. Subhash Place got chills with the sensational double murder in a gangwar between Neeraj Bawania Gang and Neetu Dabodia wherein multiple rounds were fired from both sides,” a police officer said, adding that a case under section 302, 307, 120B and 34 IPC and 25/27 Arms Act at Subhash Place police station was registered.
