Taratarini Chaitra Yatra begins

Wednesday, 31 March 2021 | Prasant Das | BRAHMAPUR

The famous Chaitra Mangalbar (Tuesday) Yatra of Maa Taratarini began here on Tuesday amid Covid safety protocols. After all rituals, the two sister siblings Goddess Tara and Tarini took Kali Besha (attire) and gave Darshan to devotees at 6 am. The tonsuring of head of small children called Mundan started at 4 am, which continued till afternoon on the day.  As decided earlier, the road to the hill top has been closed which triggered resentments among the devotees.

They were allowed to go to the hilltop by bus only. District Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange and Ganjam SP Brijesh Kumar Ray took stock of the arrangements. Temple committee executive officer TK Reddy guided all for execution of Covid norms. Servitors Bapuji Rana, Tapan Rana and others conducted the rituals. A tight security arrangement was made under the direct guidance of Purushottampur SDPO Seema Swain and IIC Jagannath Mallick.
