The State Government on Friday approved seven industrial projects, including three grain-based ethanol plants, worth Rs 2,083.88 crore.
The projects were discussed and approved at the 102nd meeting of the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary SC Mahapatra. While major projects are related to IOCL, HPCL, other projects are of renewable energy, logistic and tourism sectors.
The projects are expected to create employment for 2,144 persons. Among the prominent projects, a 500-KLPD grain-based ethanol plant and an 8-MW co-gen power plant by IOCL with an investment of Rs 870 crore are to be set up in Balgopalpur, Baleswar. A 500-KLPD grain-based ethanol plant by HPCL is to come up at Umarkote with an investment of Rs 500 crore. A 100-KLPD grain-based ethanol plant along with a compressed biogas plant of 12-TPD capacity and a 2.20-MW co-gen power plant by Newalt Energy Private Ltd with an investment of Rs 125 crore is to be set up at Nuakheta, Bantala, in Angul district.
A multi-modal logistics park by International Cargo Terminals and Infrastructure Private Ltd with an investment Rs 150 crore would be set up at Kujang in Jagatsinghpur.
Besides, an 18.75-MW solar power plant by Aditya Birla Renewables Ltd with an investment of Rs 89.44 crore is to be set up at Saintala in Balangir, A 5-star hotel by Atmosphere Core India Private Ltd with an investment of Rs 184.64 crore would be set up at Bhubaneswar. A 5-star hotel by DN Homes Private Ltd with an investment of Rs 164.80 crore is to be set up at Chandaka Industrial Estate, Bhubaneswar.
