General Manager, South Eastern Railway (SER), Archana Joshi visited Ranchi Railway Division for a detailed inspection of the passenger facilities available at Ranchi station like food stall, newly constructed foot over bridge, computerized panel, waiting room and offices of various departments located at Ranchi station.

Joshi visited Ranchi Rail Division along with SER Chief Public Relation Officer, Niraj Kumar.

During the General Manager’s visit SER Mens Congress Additional Joint General Secretary, Nityalal Kumar with a 70 members’ delegation welcomed her and submitted a letter carrying their pending demands.  Talking to The Pioneer, Kumar said that a large number of Railway employees died due to Covid-19 and their dependents did not get jobs on compassionate grounds till now.

Kumar further said that some employees have not been getting their travel allowance and dearness allowance for more than one year so the Railway should consider this issue also.

 During the inspection, Joshi expressed satisfaction over the cleanliness and passenger convenience and also instructed to make improvements where there is a need to improve. Divisional Railway Manager, Pradeep Gupta and other officers of the Division were present from the Headquarters.

Joshi oversaw environmental works and inaugurated Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) at Hatia station with a capacity to treat 500 kiloliters of waste water per day, by which the waste water of Hatia station and coaching depot can be treated and reused.

In the meeting room of the Divisional Office, a meeting was held with the team of Multi Dimensional Business Development Unit of Ranchi Railway Division along with the prominent businessmen of the Division.

After this, the foundation stone was laid for the expansion of the spectator gallery and the players' bedroom at the Astroturf Hockey Stadium in Hatia. An exhibition women's hockey match was also played on the occasion. On this occasion, the General Manager said that there are many talented players in Ranchi Railway Division, especially in the field of hockey. “I call upon all the players to join the Indian Railways and take advantage of the facilities provided by the Indian Railways and develop their sports skills and increase the value of the country and Indian Railways,” she said.

On this occasion Principal Chief Operating Manager, Prabhas Dansana, Principal Chief Commercial Manager, Satish P Dudhe, Principal Chief Engineer, UK Vareen, Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer, PK Mandal, Principal Financial Adviser and Chairman SERSA, Prashant Mishra, Chief Electrical Locomotive Engineer, RK Tiwari, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager cum Chief Public Relations Officer, Avneesh and all branch officers and other officers were present.
