In order to speed up the work process for the public, the regional transport office (RTO) of Dehradun has launched a single window system in its premises following the orders of State transport secretary, Ranjit Sinha. Last week, Sinha expressed his disappointment during his RTO inspection that people have to go through different offices and officials for works like depositing Challan and recovering seized documents that waste the time of staff as well as the public. He immediately ordered the officials to establish a single window system where people can get their work done at once rather than wandering around the RTO premises.Following his orders, the transport office has started a single window system for such works on Friday, informed the assistant regional transport officer (ARTO), Dwarika Prasad. He also disclosed that the transport office is also working to establish some offices on the ground floor of the RTO office like issuing vehicle permits to the owners among others to facilitate easy access to the public. Prasad said that the RTO is working on all the orders issued by the transport secretary during his inspection and will execute all the plans as per the orders in the upcoming weeks.
