Record 98.91% students clear Class XII exam

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) released the class 12 result today at cbseresults.nic.in. This year, 99.37 pass percentage has been recorded which is nearly 10 per cent higher than previous year’s 88.8 per cent. In 2019, it was 83. 4 per cent.

The senior secondary exam results have been declared based on an alternative marking scheme after the Central government decided to cancel CBSE Class 12 board exams due to the coronavirus outbreak. As per the board’s 40:30:30 formula for evaluation of marks of class 12 students, students were assessed based on their class 12, class 11 and class 10 marks.

Zone wise, students from Trivandum zone has performed better with a pass percentage of 99.989 per cent. Ranchi which comes under Patna zone has the pass percentage of 98.91 per cent. As the results were prepared based on internal assessment and class X and XI examination all schools with students from different schools in Ranchi have performed better.

Replicating Its Exemplary Performance DPS, Ranchi came out with flying colours in the results. The overall topper of the school Sanyam Raj (PCM) created history by scoring 99.8 per cent in English + Best Four Subjects. Venkatesh Modi, the Commerce stream Topper, scored 98.8% whereas Aashvi Vaidsen made her alma mater proud by scoring 98.8 % in Humanities stream.

It’s noteworthy that in the session 2019-2020 too, DPS Ranchi had State topper to its credit and the school has not faltered even in these challenging and uncertain times. Out of 709 students 293(41.32 per cent) students scored 95 per cent and above, while 566 (79.83 per cent) students scored 90 per cent and above. As many as 688 (97.03 per cent) students scored 85 per cent and above, while 709 (100 per cent) students scored 70 per cent and above. Not only that, 67 students scored 100 per cent marks in different subjects. Expressing his exhilaration, Principal Dr Ram Singh, acknowledged and appreciated the combined efforts of students, teachers and parents for this magnificent achievement.

At Jawahar Vidya Mandir Shyamali 802 students had appeared in the examination out of which all have declared passed. Subject wise, the number of students in science stream was 536, 93 in commerce and 173 in arts. Moreover, at JVM 343 students have secured more than 90 per cent marks. Surendranath Centenary School too has secured cent per results in CBSE 12 examination. At Surendranath Centenary School, 43 students have secured more than 90 per cent marks, while 99 per cent students have secured more than 60 marks.

The students of Sarla Birla Public School too have performed better in Class XII results. At Sarala Birla Public School a total of 28 students have secured more than 90 per cent marks, while 286 students have secured more than 90 per cent in different subjects. The students of Kairali School too have outshine in CBSE results. From Kairali school, 210 students had appeared in the test out of which all have cleared the examination. 43 students have secured more than 90 per cent marks, while 72 students have secured more than 80 per cent marks.
