Ranchi police to keep tab on party animals

Ranchi police have warned revellers against drunk and driving as the district will deploy cops at strategic locations to catch and fine such people.The special drive will start from Wednesday to be continued till January 1.  There will be as many as 10 special squads against drunk and driving whereas over 1000 cops will be deployed in the capital area at picnic spots to check drinking at public places, eve-teasing, and crime control. Ranchi SP (City) Saurabh who holds an additional charge of traffic police said that police would act against such persons as per the law. Along with seizure of vehicle and fine, the offender would be sent to jail Sources in Ranchi police said that over 60 police officers and two dozen magistrates would be deputed at different picnic spots in both rural and urban areas.

Special patrolling at Morhabadi, Airport Road, Hatia, and highways will be done to check over speeding. While police will also ensure that Covid 19 guidelines are followed special vigil will be kept at waterfalls including Hundru, Jonha, Dassam, and Sita under the Bundu subdivision.The magistrate and the police team deployed at these falls would report to the headquarters about the situation so that people don’t venture into the danger zone. Special precautions will be made at the place with a history of accidents. Forest guards and paryatak mitras of the tourism department will be directed to remain alert and stop people going deep inside forests or undertaking dangerous adventures at the waterfalls.

Ranchi district administration has directed the civil surgeon to make arrangements for ambulances, and fire officials to keep fire tenders ready. The city control room will remain functional round the clock and ambulances will be kept with lifesaving drugs and other necessary equipment.
