The State Chief Electoral Officer K Ravi Kumar has urged voters to update their voter ID card online by visiting the Election Commission's Voter Helpline App. This can be done easily on mobile phones, while those who are facing difficulties in updating their voter’s id online can visit nearest Pragya Kendra where volunteers will be there to assist the voters in updating their voter ID.
The State Election Commission for updating the voter Id card has also decided to set up special camps where potential voters can visit for updating their voter ID. The State Electoral officer has also urged the potential voters who have attained the age of 18 on January 1, 2021, to register their names in the voter list. For this, correspondence has been made with the principals of all the colleges and appeals have been made for cooperation.
The commission will receive claims and objections from November 1 to November 30. A special camp will be organized on November 20, 21, 27 and 28 for registration of new voter lists.
The Chief Electoral Officer has said that a good electoral roll is necessary for a good election. In this regard, the commission is working on the theme of healthy roll, healthy poll. To make it successful, efforts will be made to rectify the errors and add new voters throughout the month of November. He said that a target has been set to make all the works of the Voter List Special Brief Revision Program 2022 in digital form. In order to expedite the work, the Commission will accept documents self signed by the citizens.
The Chief Electoral Officer informed that Jharkhand is ranked third in the entire country in BLO checklist work by BLOs through the app, which is a matter of pride. At the same time, wide publicity is also being done to make the citizens aware. He said that 6 video messages, 6 types of posters and flakes and one audio jingle have been made. A video, an audio jingle and poster and fax were also unveiled on 29 October.
