The prices of some generic medicines available at the Shri Dhanwantri Generic Medical Stores, launched by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Wednesday:
Paracetamol tablet worth Rs.10.20 will be available at Rs.3.88, Ciprofloxacin Eye/Ear Drop (Rs.39.75) at Rs.15.11, Cetirizine Tablet (Rs.18.48) at Rs.7.02, Azithromycin Tablet (Rs.70.69) at Rs.26.86, Amoxicillin Capsule (Rs.72.46) at Rs.27.53, The stores will sell ORS (Rs.17.96) at Rs.6.82.
Multivitamin Syrup (Rs.169) at Rs. 64.22, Ofloxacin-Ornidazole Tablet (Rs.145) at Rs. 55.10, Diclofenac Gel (Rs.105) at Rs.39.90, Clotrimazole Dusting Powder (Rs.116) at Rs.44.08
Miconazole Cream (Rs.90.50) at Rs.34.39, Surgical items including cotton, bandage, spirit, blood sugar testing kit, oximeter, BP machine, thermometer and vaccine, will also be sold at these stores at discounted rates.
Similarly, 69 Chhattisgarh herbal products including powder, soap, coffee, green tea, candy, cashew, mahua laddu, honey, broom will be sold.
Shri Dhanwantri Generic Medical Store will open in the middle of a city close to a hospital.
The shops are provided to businessmen at a rate of Rs. 2 per sq. ft. in municipal areas and Re. 1 per sq. ft. per month in municipalities and nagar panchayats.
These stores have the freedom to buy medicines in the open markets. Home delivery of medicines will start in the near future.
