Utkal Sammilani members garlanded the statue of Kantakabi Laxmikanta Mohapatra here on Wednesday on the occasion of his death anniversary. Sammilani Mancheswar Branch president Dillip Dashsharma presided over function. Journalists Prabhu Kalyan Mohapatra, Guru Kalyan Mohapatra and Sita Ballabh Mohapatra recalled contributions of poet to Odia literature. The Sammilani demanded that a postage stamp be unveiled in memory of Laxmikanta.
Sammilani vice-president Sital Chandra Mohanty, Basanti Tripathy, Praanna rath , Maheshwar Biswal, Samaranjan Mohanty, Dr Asit Das, Gopi Mohan Patnaik, Akshay Kumar Jethi and Prakash Samal were, among others, present and paid tributes to poet.
