PM ‘Smart City’ dream project completes 6 yrs

Urban Housing and Development Department is working with full dedication to speed up important works like providing basic facilities to the citizens, keeping the cities clean, preserving the environment. Along with making new rules and projects for the development of cities, their implementation is also being done in a time-limit. Urban Development and Housing Minister Bhupendra Singh himself reviews the plans every week.

As a result, Madhya Pradesh has done remarkable work in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's dream project "Smart City". The project has completed 6 years. Not only Bhopal and Indore of the State, work is going on as per the target in other cities where smart city project has been approved. As a result of this, in the India Smart Awards Contest-2020 announced by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India, overall Indore got the first place, 5 smart cities of the state got 11 awards and Madhya Pradesh got second place in the states category.Project Award

Built Environment Theme –

Indore bagged first position for 56 shop project. Sanitation Theme - Indore got first position in Municipal Waste Management System theme along with Tirupati city.

Culture Theme - Indore got first place for Conservation of Built Heritage and Gwalior got third place for Digital Museum. Economy theme - Indore got the first position for carbon credit financing mechanism. Urban Environment Theme - Bhopal got the first position for Clean Energy along with Chennai.

Innovation Award

Indore bagged the first position for the Carbon Credit Financing Mechanism in the Innovation Idea Award theme.

City award

Indore got first place and Jabalpur got third place in round one cities. Sagar got second place in Round 3 Cities.

567 projects worth 6566 crores

Under the Smart City Mission, 567 projects worth Rs 6566.70 crore have been made in 7 smart cities. Out of these, 273 projects worth Rs 1577 crores have been completed. The deadline for completion of the remaining project has been fixed. Seventy five project worth Rs 939 crores in Bhopal, 161 in Indore worth Rs 942 crores, 99 in Jabalpur worth Rs 940 crores, 49 in Gwalior worth Rs 926 crores, 60 in Ujjain worth Rs 940 crores, 69 in Sagar worth Rs 964 crores and 54 projects worth Rs 914 crores in Satna are in process.

Housing compounding limit has been increased from 10 to 30 percent. This will remove the difficulties of the building owners as well as increase the income of the corporation.
