A play showcasing the struggle of theatre artists ‘Mast Maula’ was staged at Shaheed Bhavan Auditorium on Saturday. The play was all about the ups and downs and the excitement of a theatre artist.
Directed by known theatre artist and playwright of the city Vibha Shrivastava, the play was presented by the artists of Ekrang Socio Cultural group, Bhopal. The play revolves around the lives and conversation of three artists. Among them is a theatre actor, a poet and a singer.
The entire stage is taken up by the artists and how they develop a connection and an impactful interaction with the audience was commendable. The artists tried their best to make the audience glued to their seats till the end.
The entire play is a blend of various emotions and aspirations. The play begins with introducing a home and its owner. The owner of the house lives with his daughter and a servant. The poet and singer come to live as paying guests at the house.
Both of them begin to like owner’s daughter. Both of them tries their luck hard to impress her, but fails every time. Later, the actor enters the scene and the girl begins a soft liking for him.
On the other hand, the poet and the singer develop a jealousy for the actor as he was able to impress the girl.
But, he ditches her and leaves. Later, he feels guilty and returns just to tell her the truth. After hearing the truth, the owner of the house asks them to leave.
How they find their destinations formed rest of the story. Weaved in many feelings, the play was able to impress the audience.
