Masks were distributed among the passengers in a passenger train on Friday on the second day of the Statewide mask wearing drive.
Sources said the civil surgeon Palamu John F Kennedy and his men distributed around one thousand masks among passengers in the Daltonganj railway station and also in the 12 bogie Barkakana Dehri On Sone running passenger train 03341 Up today.
The civil surgeon travelled in the train up-to Rajhara railway station where he got down from the train and when he found this train halting there for more than two minutes again started distributing masks among passengers through the open windows of the train.
Kennedy said the passengers are unmindful of the dangers of the Coronavirus and are taking things too lightly.
He said young passengers use ear plugs but not masks.
He said he found a couple of sadhu passengers who were found wearing masks in the bogie of this train. These sadhus showing honesty didn't ask for any mask saying this be given to those who haven't this for their faces.
Sources said the mask wearing drive was carried out between Daltonganj and Rajhara railway station under East Central Railway of the Dhanbad division..
