Now 250 guests at marriages, funerals in Bhubaneswar

Sunday, 31 October 2021 | PNS | BHUBANESWAR

The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Saturday further increased the guest limit for marriages and funerals in the State capital and withdrew its previous restriction on gathering of people in the social functions.

Keeping in view the improvement in the Covid-19 situation, the civic body withdrew the previous order issued on October 4 that capped the number of guests in functions related to marriage, death ritual and thread ceremony to 50.

With this, a maximum of 250 guests, as stipulated by the State Government earlier on August 31, 2021, would be allowed in the social events within the BMC limits with effect from November 1.

Notably on Friday, Khordha district detected 157 infections, out of which 142 were from Bhubaneswar. The number of active cases in the capital city stood at 3,015.
