No check on overloaded buses month after Sidhi

Wednesday, 31 March 2021 | PNS | Indore

Only a one month passed after the Sidhi bus incident where the overloaded bus fell into the canal and 47 people lost their lives after that Indore regional transport office and district administration had initiated a drive to catch the overloaded bus.

Around 70 buses were daily fined and several buses were caught which were not plying on their authorized permit route and also their fitness and permit have expired many years back. The Indore RTO fined them in lakhs but since a fortnight the checking of the overloaded buses has been completely stopped and now again the overloaded buses and goods carrier have started plying in Indore district thus posing a threat to the daily commuters on road as well as the overloaded and unfit vehicles are creating a heavy pollution.

When The Pioneer contacted Indore RTO Jitendra Singh Raghuvanshi he didn’t pick up the phone and when he was contacted on office number, he declined to talk.
