No beds for critical patients in MKCG hosp

Friday, 30 April 2021 | PNS | BRAHMAPUR

As Covid-19 cases surge in Ganjam district, caseloads have increased in the MKCG Medical College Hospital here. Because both general and Covid patients are coming here for treatment, the situation is getting worsened; even many critical patients are not getting beds.

It has been seen that critical patients are lying in the verandah.Though they are getting treatment, the condition of both patients and their attendants is deplorable. As 300 more positive cases were added in last two days, the total active cases increased to 1,000. Relatives of the patients complained that because of the shortage of the beds, patients are being treated with oxygen cylinders in casualty corridors and on verandah.

“Because MKCG is the main referral hospital in the district and also in south Odisha, people largely depend on this hospital, but seeing the mismanagement here any one can say the coordination is utterly lacking,” said a Brahmapur resident.
