Under Gamak series, Ustad Alauddin Khan Sangeet and Kala Akademi organised music and dance event on Wednesday.
Mandira Halve and group from Bhopal performed classical music and Kathak was performed by Srishti Gupta and group. The event was broadcasted live on the department's YouTube channel.
The presentation started with singing in which artist Mandira and group performex the raga Yaman Bada Khayal Ek Taal, Mero Kartar Sharan, and Chhota Khayal Madhyalay Trital Mero Kartar Sharan.
She was accompanied by Swapnil Bagul on Tabla, Satyam Sharma on Harmonium, Shirao Khan on Sarangi and Parul Singh on Padant.
The next performance was Kathak dance in which Srishti started the presentation with "Shiv Panchakshar". Next presentation Pure Kathak dance in Teentaal. In the presentation, the traditional bandish, practice, of Raigad Gharana were presented.
The presentation concluded with Thumri- Mohe Chhedo Nahi Shyam. This thumri was composed in Raag Mishra Peelu and Taal Deepchandi. It was sung by Rasika Kulkarni, while on tabla, Ashesh Upadhyay and on sitar, Anirudh Joshi accompanies.
The speedy footwork and wondrous expressions marked their beautiful performance.
