Miscreants booked for setting ablaze half a dozen shanties in Ajabpura village

Berasia police have booked over a dozen people who set over half a dozen shanties at Sapera Tapra in Ajabpura village in the night on Wednesday; the accused abused victim and threatened before setting shanties on fire.

The victim Shrawan Nath Sapera had a fight with the neighbor who along with his aides put shanties on fire and abused victim of caste.

The police have booked Meharban, Fateh Singh, Jasman, Imrat Awadh, Chander, Sunny, Raju, Gajraj, Prem, Bhagwat Mehraban, Bhujbal, Samandar, Ramcharan, Imrat, Harinarayan, Hakam, Shivnarayan, Simmu, Awadhanarayan, Lakhpat, Gabbar and Bhura.

Based on the complaint after the preliminary investigation police have registered a case under sections 147, 148, 149, 436 and 506 of the IPC and section 3(2) of the SC-ST Atrocity Prevention Act.

Police said that the arson was fuelled by old enmity after girl of Gurjar community eloped with boy of Sapera community around 3-4 months ago. She returned later and matter was pacified but as the community wanted to teach lesson to Sapera community they put shanties on fire which could be seen as the possible reason but main accused and reason would be revealed in the further investigation.

After the arson, no arrest has been made till the filing of the report. The accused went absconding and are still at large and search has been intensified by the police.
