Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Monday inaugurated Chhath Puja Ghat and Chhath Dharamshala in Karnal.
“It is a matter of great joy that the construction of the Ghat, which was discussed two years ago, has now been completed at a cost of Rs 4.48 crore. The devotees will benefit due to this Ghat during Chhath Puja and fairs,” Khattar said.
The Chief Minister said that Chhath Puja is also associated with Karnal as on this festival Lord Surya is worshipped.
With the construction of this Ghat, the facility of bathing on the western Yamuna canal will be available on festivals like Chhath festival, Durga Puja, Saraswati Puja etc. The length of this ghat is 2,772 feet.
On this occasion, the Chhath Parv Seva Samiti Mandal handed over a demand letter to the Chief Minister. In this demand letter, the Mandal demanded for a halt for Shaheed Express at Karnal.
