The Vigilance police on Thursday caught Chakradhar Padhi, Tehasildar, Raikia in Kandhamal district red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 40,000. Padhi had demanded the bribe from complainant Senapati Pradhan of village Mandakia in the district to release a tractor loaded with stones which was engaged in MGNREGA work.
Later, Padhi’s office and official residence at Raikia were searched. Further investigations were on.
