Saturday, 13 November 2021 | PNS | Ranchi

Following the instruction of All India Congress Committee (AICC), Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC) will launch an awareness programme across the state from November 14 to November 29 against the rising prices of petroleum products.

To ensure success of the 15-day awareness programme, a meeting was held on Friday at the party headquarters in the State Capital. Congress Legislature Party Leader, Alamgir Alam, Minister in the State Government, Badal, JPCC Chief Rajesh Thakur, MLAs like Naman Vixel Kongari, Pradip Yadav, Dipika Pandey Singh, Amba Prasad were present with the party officials of the State in the meeting.

Talking to the media persons after the meeting, Thakur said that today the whole Country was suffering from inflation. “The prices of petrol-diesel and LPG cylinders are tormenting people. Against the rising prices of commodities, JPCC will run a public awareness campaign from November 14 to 29. Through this, people will be told about the anti-people policies of the Central Government,” he added.

Thakur said that the party’s State unit will launch the programme on the instructions of the Central leadership. Modi Government has to be taught a lesson through this programme because people are facing trouble due to rising prices, he added. Speaking on the occasion, Alam said that through public awareness, the achievements of the State Government would be told by holding meetings in the panchayats across the State. At the same time, the “anti-people” policies of the Central Government will also be highlighted to people. “Our government did the work of creating assets in the last 70 years. But today the Modi Government is giving those assets in private hands,” he added.

“Many more programmes have been planned by the party in the meeting. It has also been decided that the party will connect with maximum possible number of people through this public awareness programme. The Government is about to complete two years. People will be told about the work that the State Government has done in these two years,” said the Legislature Party Leader. On the absence of MLA cum Finance Minister, Dr Rameshwar Oraon in the meeting, Alam said that there is a cabinet meeting, preparations had to be made for it, which is why Dr Oraon did not come to participate in the meeting. “He (Oraon) is very serious about our programmes. He will also tour the whole State during these 15 days,” he added.
