Haryana CM congratulates Bhupendra Patel

Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Sunday  congratulated and extended best wishes to Bhupendra Patel on becoming the new Chief Minister of Gujarat. The Chief Minister will attend the oath-taking ceremony of Patel which is to be held on Monday in Gandhinagar, the capital of Gujarat.

74,978 candidates appeared in HCS

Chandigarh: As many as 74,978 candidates appeared in the Haryana Civil Service ( Ex.Br. ) & other Allied Services Examination till Sunday evening, said a spokesman. He said the Haryana Public Service Commission conducted the exam in two sessions from 10.00 am to 12.00 noon and from 3.00 pm to 5.00 pm. The Commission had advertised 155 vacancies in March. A total number of 1,48,262 candidates applied for these posts which are the highest ever for the said examination. A total of 535 examination centres were established for the examination in 13 districts of the state.

Punjab waives Rs 41.48 cr debt of 10,151 SC youth

Chandigarh: Punjab Government has waived off Rs 41.48 crore loans of a total of 10,151 youth belonging to the SC community. Punjab Government’s pro-people move has given a big relief to the SC youth, said the state’s Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities Minister Sadhu Singh Dharmsot on Sunday. He said the Government has decided to waive off Rs 50,000 each from all kinds of loans taken by the state’s youth for self-employment through the Scheduled Castes Development and Finance Corporation. The decision was taken after considering the problems faced by the youth to repay loans taken for self employment due to failure of trade, death of beneficiary, no earner at home, and circumstances arising out of COVID-19

18,603 women benefited under PMMVY in HP

Shimla: As many as 1,96,491 beneficiaries are registered in Himachal under Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) and benefit of Rs 82.59 crore has been credited in the bank account of the beneficiaries since inception of the scheme in the year 2017, said a spokesman. He said, in the year 2021-22, about 18603 beneficiaries have been registered till date and Rs 6,10,32,000 have been deposited in the account of beneficiaries. The State Government has made tremendous strides with approval and launch of several big initiatives to improve nutritional outcomes for children, adolescent girls, pregnant women and lactating mothers, he added.

47 units of blood collected

Chandigarh: Thalassaemic Charitable Trust (Regd.), Chandigarh organised its 229th blood donation camp at PGIMER on September 11 on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. The camp was conducted under strict COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions. Total 47 units of blood was collected from voluntary blood donors in the camp.  The next blood donation camp by the Trust will be organized on September 18.

BOI general body meeting held

Chandigarh: Bank of India Officers Association organised its 29th annual general body meeting at Punjab Kala Bhawan Sector 16, here. Industry leaders including Sanjoy Dass (President- FBOIOA) and Sunil Kumar (General Secretary-FBOIOA) graced the occasion with their presence. Leaders discussed various industry issues including changes in banking environment, privatisation of PSBs’ and its perils and how our Federation and Associations are planning to raise voice against any such moves.
