TEDx 8th edition is going to be organised at Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ranchi on December 11, in which eminent people from various fields will participate as speakers. The theme of the program is 'Third Side of the Coin' reflecting the uniqueness and beauty of life. According to the organisers, the third side of the coin represents those who stand apart by doing different things from others.
It reflects those who have shown that there is more to life than defeats and victories. In this, influential and meritorious guests of their respective fields will keep their views on various topics.
This time the theme, Third Side of the Coin, a speaker will keep his talk for 15 to 20 minutes.
Union Women and Child Development Minister Smriti Zubin Irani, Padma Shri awardee and Indian classical dancer Anand Shankar Jayant, Femina Miss India-2018 first runner-up and Indian actress Meenakshi Chaudhary, Padma Shri recepeint Uddhab Kumar Bharali, Indian Para Swimmer and 2018 Indian Open Para Swimming Championship gold medalist Mohd Shams Alam Shaikh, IAS Shrishti Jayant Deshmukh and Dr. Nagarjuna B. Gowda, Microsoft India Managing Director and Corporate Vice President Rajiv Kumar and 2015 Best Indian Chef of the Year and Celebrity Chef Vicky Ratnani will be present at the TEDx.
Due to Covid19, last year TEDx could not be held at IIM Ranchi. This year the event will be in offline mode, which will be conducted in the auditorium of the new Com Campus of the college. A team of 50 to 60 students from different departments of the college is working for its successful organization. Students are also very excited to organize the event.
The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Ranchi partially moved to its permanent campus in Dhurwa in October this year after functioning from a temporary facility at Suchna Bhawan for more than a decade.
The institute currently runs at least six courses, including PhD and integrated MBA, and has students from places as far as Kerala and Rajasthan.
It also offers executive management courses for working professionals, who mostly attend classes online. IIM-R, the ninth IIM in India, was established in December 2009, and has been functioning from a temporary campus since then. Initially, the government’s attempts at finding land for the institute’s permanent campus were marred by protests by land owners. Eventually, the government finalised an over 60 acre plot in Dhurwa for IIM-R’s permanent campus.
Few months back, a new course, integrated programme in management, began at the Indian Institute of Management, Ranchi. The IPM is a full time 5-year blended course for business studies from undergraduate to postgraduate level or an integrated BBA-MBA programme and the students will be given an MBA degree on successful completion of the course.
