Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), the topmost body for providing leadership in the agricultural research and development programmes of the country has celebrated its 93rd foundation day today at its main headquarter “Krishi Bhawan” in New Delhi as well as all its crop and commodity specific research institutions located across the country including ICAR-Indian Institute of Soybean Research Indore.
The ICAR Foundation Day was also celebrated at the Indore-based ICAR-IISR, a popular R&D institute dedicated for conducting research and development programs on soybean, a major oilseed crop which presently contributing nearly one fourth of the vegetable oil demand of the Indian population. The plantation programme was conducted at the experimental farm of the ICAR-IISR on the approach roads located in its experimental farm area in the auspicious presence of Ashok Sharma, Dean of Indore Agricultural College, S.V., Head, Regional Wheat Research Institute (IARI) and Alok Deshwal along with institute Director Dr. Nita Khandekar as well as scientists and employees of the institute The 19 saplings of Guava and Lemon were planted during the programme.
The programme was organized under the supervision and guidance of Neeta Khandekar, the director of the institute, and coordinated by the Farm-in-charge of the institute, Maharaj Singh.
