Border Security Force (BSF) personnel recovered a huge cache of explosives from the Pindamali-Bhitarpara forest in the Narayanpatna area of Koraput district on Saturday.
During a combing operation, jawans of the BSF’s 155 Battalion recovered 60 gelatins sticks, 50 electric detonators, 30 small iron pellets, electric wires and 2.5 kg of gun powder from the forest.
It was suspected that Maoists had stored the explosives to target security personnel.
On February 23, BSF personnel, while on a routine combing operation in a forest of Malkangiri district, had recovered a huge cache of explosives, including five kg of tiffin bombs, two pressure IEDs, wires and batteries. Besides, a Maoist uniform was also recovered.
