Himachal Pradesh witnessed yet another grim day on Thursday with highest single-day fatalities at 40 and record spike of 3,040 fresh cases.
With this, the State’s caseload reached 96,929 while the death toll stood at 1,447.
There were 17,835 active cases in the Hill State till the evening.
As per the State’s health bulletin, Kangra, the worst affected district in Himachal Pradesh continues to record the highest number of fresh infections and deaths on a daily basis.
In the last 24 hours, 17 deaths were reported in Kangra, eight in Shimla, five in Mandi, three each in Bilaspur, Solan and two each in Chamba and Sirmaur, 610 fresh cases were reported in Kangra followed by 539 in Solan, 412 in Shimla, 307 in Mandi, 291 in Sirmaur, 215 in Bilaspur.
Out of total 17,835 active cases, Kangra reported the highest number of active cases at 4,410 followed by 2,934 cases in Solan and 1,896 in Shimla.
1,241 people recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 7,757 in the State, the bulletin stated.
Till date, over 14.97 lakh tests have been conducted in the State, it added.
