Heavy rains in Kolkata and adjoining areas have hit rail traffic between HOWRAH - Mughalsarai stations of East Central Railway(ECR) stations besides different stations of South Eastern Railway (SER) stations.
According to a press release issued by SER, as many as 12 trains have been cancelled and 23 others will terminate short. The trains cancelled include Howrah - Lalkuan, Howrah- Mumbai express , Howrah-Suchendrabad express. The SER press release indicates water has logged in different yards including Howrah yard tbus the trains have been cancelled, short originated and short terminated.
The cancelled trains include Howrah-Titlagarh Special , Howrah-Puri Special scheduled , Howrah-Adra-Chakradharpur/ Bokaro Steel City Howrah-Ahmedabad Special Howrah-Chennai , Howrah-Yesvantpur Special,Howrah-Hyderabad Special , Howrah-Bhubaneswar Special , Bokaro Steel City/ Chakradharpur-Howrah Special that were scheduled to leave Howrah on July 30 at different times, according to the SERpress release .
In addition departure time of several trains from Howrah that would pass via grand trunk route have been rescheduled and would reach different stations of ECR four to five hours late from scheduled time.
