Haryana, Gujarat Guvs to inaugurate Int’l Gita Mahotsav

The International Gita Mahotsav-2021 will begin with the worship of the holy book Gita on December 9.

Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatraya and Gujarat Governor Devvrat Arya will inaugurate the festival. This time, the International Gita Mahotsav will be celebrated on December 14. Programmes like Gita Pujan, Brahmasarovar Pujan, and Gita Yagna will be conducted on December 9 in Purushottam Pura Bag of Brahmasarovar, said Kurukshetra Deputy Commissioner Mukul Kumar.

He said the Saras and Shilp Mela of International Gita Mahotsav-2021 has started from December 2 and this festival will be formally inaugurated on December 9 and the main programmes of the festival will continue till December 14.

However, the Saras and ShilpMela will continue till December 19.

On December 9, the entire text of Shrimad Bhagavad Gita will be held at Jyotisar, the birthplace of the Gita. After this, Gita Yagna and Gita Pujan at Purushotampura Bagh Brahmasarovar and International Gita Seminar will be organized at Shrimad Bhagvad Gita Sadan of Kurukshetra University. On the same day, Maha Aarti and cultural programmes built around the theme of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav will be held in the evening at Purushotampura Bagh and Brahmasarovar Bagh, he said.

The Deputy Commissioner further said that Sant Sammelan will be held on December 12, complete Gita recitation at Jyotisar from December 12 to 14, Global Gita recitation on December 14, Bhajan Sandhya till December 19 and regional cuisine as well as Haryana Pavilion would become the centre of attraction.

48 kos Kurukshetra exhibition, cultural programmes, Gita book fair, and state level exhibition would be organized at Purushotampura Bagh from December 9 to 14 and Deepotsav and 48 kos pilgrimage conference will be the centre of attraction on December14 as well, he said.
