Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Friday said that it is the Government’s effort to make life in Jharkhand normal. “Given the situation we have increased some relaxations. We have eyes on the situation and given the facts we have taken some decisions to open certain services with conditions,” he said.
Addressing media persons after the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) meeting here on Friday, the CM said, “It is my earnest request (to the people) to be mentally ready as the infection (Covid-19) can come anytime soon. I request all of you to maintain social distancing, wear masks and follow Covid protocols to be healthy and keep others healthy.”
The SDMA on Friday decided that all shops in all districts of the State will remain open till 8 PM, while restaurants and bars can open till 10 PM. All Government and private offices can operate with 100 per cent manpower.
However, from 8 PM on Saturday to 6 AM on Monday all shops, except vegetables, fruits, grocery, restaurant, bar, eateries and essential services will remain closed.
Cinema Halls, Bars, Multiplexes and clubs can open with 50 per cent capacity, while teaching and non-teaching staff in colleges and schools will remain present.
Although schools and colleges will open, offline classes are allowed only for classes 9, 10, 11 and 12. Parents’ permission is a must for students attending classes, which can be run by 12 PM and for a maximum period of four hours. For colleges, classes for the final year students of UG and PG will open and can be conducted till 12 PM only. At least the first dose of vaccine will be mandatory for the students.
ITIs, Skill Development Centres and Polytechnic institutes can also open with students and teachers having at least one first jab of the vaccine. Similarly, coaching institutes can open with 50 per cent capacity and the students above the age of 18 years can attend classes. Students and teachers will have to take at least the first shot of the Covid-19 vaccine.
Examinations of the State and Central Government will take place. Offline examination for final year students of UG and PG courses will be conducted.
Religious places will remain closed for devotees and the ban on processions will continue. Fairs and exhibitions will remain banned in the State.
The government has allowed interstate bus services and there will be no need of e-pass for interstate movement of people.
Wearing a mask at public places will be mandatory along with social distancing. The order of the SDMA will be in effect till the next order is issued.
