The Garhwal commissioner Ravinath Raman has instructed the senior superintendent of police (SSP) of Dehradun to make adequate security arrangements at all routes in view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's proposed visit in Uttarakhand on October 7.

Chairing a meeting in Dehradun with officials of various departments concerned to discuss the execution of duties and proper arrangements for the PM’s arrival. He directed the Dehradun district administration to control and manage all the arrangements and programmes for the PM’s arrival by maintaining coordination with other departments and agencies.

He directed the administration to ensure proper arrangements of traffic and security besides ensuring the implementation of route plan from Jolly Grant to Rishikesh coordination with departments concerned. He also directed the SSP Janmejaya Khanduri to verify the identity of people arriving at the main venue besides ensuring strict security and arrangement to manage the crowd.

Raman also instructed the health department to provide sufficient medical staff with adequate supplies on the PM’s arrival. Besides this, he also directed the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to repair all the roads of the PM's route.  He also directed the other departments to make proper arrangements as per their duties. The officials of the departments like Police, forest, health, fire services, UPCL, Municipal Corporation of Rishikesh (MCR) and BSNL were also present in the meeting.
