Ganjam district Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange has sought cooperation of elected Panchayati Raj representatives to contain Covid-19. After a threadbare review of the corona situation in different blocks under Bhanjanagar subdivision, he visited different blocks of Chhatrapur Subdivision on Wednesday to take stock of the Covid situation.
Kulange asked officers and elected representatives of both subdivisions to ensure that all returnees, including migrant workers, coming from other States should be compulsorily registered and remain in home isolation for 14 days. In case anyone violates the Covid-19 protocols, FIR should be lodged against them. Kulange requested the elected representatives to motivate people not to come to towns.
For slight uneasiness or illness or mild fever, villagers need not come to the MKCG Medical College Hospital, Brahmapur, he advised. He cautioned people not to go to their village tanks or ponds for taking bath.
Kulange also reviewed the status of Covid in Ganjam, Beguniapada, Purushottampur and Khallikote blocks.
Minister Bikram Keshari Arukha along with MPs and MLAs of the district also joined a virtual platform, which Kulange provided to take stock of the Covid situation.
