A mega health camp was held by the Paradip Port Trust (PPT) at Balipadia, Jajpur in association with the Santha Arakshita Das Foundation and Olasuni Gumpha Development Trust on March 28.
Organised with an aim of promoting health awareness among the public and offering them easy access to quality healthcare, the camp offered specialist consultations, medicines all completely free of charges.PPT Deputy Chairman AK Bose inaugurated the camp in the presence of the vice-president, Paradip Ladies’ Club and the respective presidents of Santha Arakshita Das Foundation and Olasuni Gumpha Development Trust. Dr P Panda, CMO, PPT Hospital, along with doctors, and support staffs of the hospital treated 1,000 patients, conducting ECG and rapid glucose test, etc.
It was organised under the corporate social responsibility of the PPT. Notably, the PPT conducts various philanthropic activities under the CSR from time to time. The medical camp was much needed for the people in villages with limited access to the hospitals, especially in the context of Covid-19. The camp was organised under strict adherence to the Covid norms.
Speaking on the occasion, the PPT Deputy Chairman expressed his concern about the health of people and stressed on the role of industries under CSR and assured more such health camps in the surrounding areas in future.
