Police arrested a government doctor for trying to sell six vials of remdesivir injection at an exorbitant price in Chhattisgarh’s Mahasamund district, police said on Thursday.
Mahasamund Superintendent of Police Prafull Kumar Thakur told The Pioneer that the accused identified as Dr Daityanashan Patel (30), who is posted as medical officer at Mahasamund district hospital.
Acting on a tip-off, local police swung into action and intercepted the doctor while checking at the Rajim-Mahasamund route of the district.
The doctor was looking for customers to sell six vials of Remdesivir injection for Rs 20,000.
