Sunday, 28 February 2021 | PNS | DUMKA

A day-long sit-in demonstration was organized by the District Congress Committee, Dumka on Saturday at local Veer Kunwar Singh Chowk against the unexpected price hike of Diesel, Petrol and LPG.

The programme was presided over by the District Congress President Shyamal Kishore Singh.  While addressing the programme, Minister of Jharkhand, Badal, who was present in the programme, said that the Prime Minister of the country has taken the initiative to harass the common people of the country and is ready to go to any extent to benefit some of his favourites.

"For the first time in the history of India, petrol has exceeded the value of more than Rs 100 per liter and Narendra Modi's dumb deaf government at the center  don't want to listen to the people of India," he said.

He said that today the country is going through a terrible phase and the assets of the country are being sold at a quarter to one price. The price of which should be two thousand crores is being sold for 200 crores.

Badal said that this king is patting himself on the relief work done during the Corona period.  The Congress gave one rupee a kilo of rice to the poor. "The scheme to provide relief to the poor, in 2013, UPA Chairman Sonia Gandhi and then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh fulfilled the promise made by Sonia Gandhi to realize the dream of former Prime Minister late Rajiv Gandhi," he said.

This government did not even spare the names of the iron man Sardar Patel.  They also named the ancient stadium named after the iron man Sardar Ballabh Bhai Patel, he said.

Addressing the programme, District Congress Dumka President Shyamal Kishore Singh said that the Congress workers will not sit silent until the Bahupriya Prime Minister is ousted from power on the strength of the people of this country.  No matter what we have to give for this, the history of India was, and will remain.
