Covid under control, says CM

Sunday, 06 June 2021 | Staff Reporter | Bhopal

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said the situation of corona infection in the State is under control. As many as 81,000 tests were conducted in the State yesterday, in which only 718 cases tested positive.

The positivity rate has now come down to 0.8 per cent. There are five districts of the state in which not a single case of corona has been found. We hope that many districts of the State will be completely corona free in the next few days.

Chouhan was holding a discussion with media representatives after plantation in Smart City Park. Chouhan said that at present there are several corona cases in Indore, Bhopal and Jabalpur; and due care is being taken continuously. If the positivity rate becomes less than five percent, then Corona infection is considered under control. We have reached 0.8 percent positivity rate.

The Chief Minister said that people’s cooperation is still necessary. Crisis Management Committees of villages, wards, cities and districts are maintaining total vigil in the unlock process.

We will have to adopt Covid friendly behaviour i.e. wearing masks, maintaining distance, washing hands frequently etc. Shopkeepers will also have to adopt precautions like maintaining distance, not allowing the shops to be crowded.

Chouhan said that 75,000 to 80,000 tests will be conducted daily in the State. It is our endeavour to ensure that if an infected person is found in any part, then he should be identified immediately. Necessary treatment should be started by isolating the patient at home or admitting him to the Covid Care Center as per requirement. Along with this, the process of contact tracing will also continue. Chouhan said that the Kill-Corona campaign will continue in the State, so that immediate treatment can be started in cases of cold, cough and fever.

Chouhan said that it is our endeavour to ensure that utmost care is taken, so that employment and establishments can also run and corona infection also remains under control. Chief Minister said that I am sure that people of the State continue to cooperate. I am grateful for the patience and support of the people of the State. The Chief Minister said that corona curfew will remain in force till June 15, relaxation will be given as per requirement.
