Coronavirus infection is spreading fast in suburban and rural localities of Dhanbad. People coming in from other states by different modes of transport appear to be the main reason.
Though district administration has no available data of people engaged possibly affected from this deadly disease .
However, the number of deaths reported from suburban and rural locations indicate towards this.
Reports suggest that a large number of deaths have been reported in rural areas like Kasbitand and Ratanpur panchayat, the Maoist infested Tundi block too is not lagging behind in this race with more than four deaths reported in this block in the last two days.
Suburban areas of Putki, Loyabad, Sindri and Govindpur too have reported large numbers of deaths due to corona as well as some other diseases including viral fever in the last one week , according to the available report.
Though district administration has launched test drives at Dhanbad railway Station and bus stand but still people are attempting to ditch health authorities as far as tests are concerned.
In the last one week 226 positive cases were detected during tests at Dhanbad Station.
Tests are on at the border check post but people can be seen taking rural roads to avoid such tests.
Keeping in view the rising trend Dhanbad deputy commissioner on Thursday held a review meeting with all BDOs, police station in-charges and directed them to ensure that the restrictions issued by state government remain in force .
“It’s very important to break the corona chain to save lives, thus guidelines must be implemented in a strict manner, “ he said.
