CMPDI celebrates Coal India Foundation Day’21

CMPDI celebrates 47th Coal India Limited (CIL) Foundation Day here on Tuesday. Director(T/RD&T), RN Jha,, began the celebrations by unfurling the CIL flag, followed by singing of CIL Corporate Song.

Jha in his speech said that Since its inception in 1975, coal production in CIL has increased 79 Million Tonnes to 596 Million Tonnes in 2020-21 for which CMPDI has played an important role from identification of coal blocks to detailed drilling, project planning, Environmental and other services incidental to coal production. CIL and all its subsidiary companies are making all out efforts to achieve the coal production target of 670 Mt for the year 2021-22. During the year 2021-22, till October, 2021, CMPDI has carried out about 3.80 lakh metre of drilling against proposed MoU target of 7.50 lakh metre. About 4.29 billion tonnes of coal resources have been added to the proved category through Detailed Exploration covering an area of about 83.17 sq km through 8 Geological Reports. 8 Project Reports were prepared with capacity addition of about 27 Mt per year.

Jha added that CMPDI has Identified Strategies/Activities like Diversification for exploration in non-Coal Sector, Efforts for exploration in coal and non-coal sector.

At CIL level, CMPDI has been given three awards, Exploration Award (Best Drilling Camp) To Mallarpur Camp under RI-I, CMPDI, Asansol for achieving 18.57 per cent growth in drilling productivity (from 682 m/drill/month to 809 m/drill/month) and achieving 107 per cent of assigned drilling target during FY 2020-21, ‘Best HoD of CMPDI’ to Anandji Prasad, Ex. General Manager (UMD), CMPDI (Presently posted as Advisor in MoC) and Award for ‘Best Regional Director of CMPDI’  to Manwendra Kumar, Ex. RD, RI-I, Asansol (Now General Manager (PAD), CMPDI.

On this occasion CMPDI felicitated the wards/children of employees who performed in an excellent way in studies and scored more than 90 per cent in final 10th & 12th Board examinations during the academic year 2020-21. Cash Prize will be directly transferred into their bank accounts.
