Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Monday met Congress president Sonia Gandhi, senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Union Coal Minister Prahlad Joshi in Delhi, a year after the JMM-Congress-RJD alliance formed government in Jharkhand.
While the CM termed meeting with Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi a courtesy meet, he said that discussions were held on the works being done in the State and the roadmap for the next four years.
“I met Sonia ji and Rahul ji after a year. It’s the beginning of the year and such courtesy meetings are natural. We have worked hard for the whole year and several issues related to development works going on in the State were discussed alongwith the roadmap for the next four year,” he said. Later in the day the CM also met Union coal Minister Prahlad Joshi and discussed several issues with the latter. In a series of Tweets the Union Coal Minister said, “CM Jharkhand, Shri @HemantSorenJMM ji called on me. Discussed matters relating to the mineral rich State of Jharkhand. Government under PM Shri @NarendraModi ji is committed to the development of the State and welfare of its people.”
“Implored him for facilitating early operationalisation of coal blocks to increase production in the State. Also requested his support for optimal utilisation of mineral resources to increase revenue for the State and employment opportunities for the people of Jharkhand,” he tweeted.
