Not only this, despite being the largest civil police force in the country, the number of women in the UP Police was negligible till 2017. After coming to power my government made it mandatory to recruit 20 per cent women in the police force. As a result, 30,000 women constables are deployed today. In the third phase of Mission Shakti, more than 20,000 women constables were given field responsibility as beat police.”
