Thursday, 30 September 2021 | PNS | Lucknow

Acting on its commitment to ensuring women's safety and empowerment, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a special training programme to connect 75,000 women from 75 districts of the state with entrepreneurship skills.

Besides, under the ongoing Vikas Utsav programme, a Helpline number- 1800-212-6844, website- https://msmemissionshakti.in/ and a mobile app was launched for women entrepreneurs for getting all information regarding entrepreneurship.

Promoting women to give a new direction to people and society, the three-day Skill Capacity Development training campaign is being carried forward by the MSME department in all 75 districts of the state. With this, these women will be provided loans, benefits of schemes, including Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana of the Centre and the state government in the next three months.

Addressing a programme of Micro and Small Enterprises department in Lucknow on Wednesday, the chief minister said, “Security, respect and self-reliance are intertwined with each other. If there is an environment of security then every person can lead his/her life with dignity. Today, every police station has a women's help desk, and women's power booths are working in the villages. Not only this, despite being the largest civil police force in the country, the number of women in the UP Police was negligible till 2017. After coming to power my government made it mandatory to recruit 20 per cent women in the police force. As a result, 30,000 women constables are deployed today. In the third phase of Mission Shakti, more than 20,000 women constables were given field responsibility as beat police.”

After unveiling postal stamps and covers based on identified ODOP products in 75 districts, Yogi said that using these envelopes in official correspondence would be a great way to brand respective products.

Providing toolkits to the trainees, the chief minister said that after completing their training, these women would also be provided loans on easy installments from banks for setting up enterprises so that their financial needs could be met.

At the function, MSME Minister Sidharth Nath Singh and Minister of State Chaudhary Udaybhan Singh also expressed their gratitude towards India Post for releasing the special cover and stamp. Singh also thanked the chief minister for the innovative thinking on ODOP and described his efforts towards women's safety, respect and self-reliance as a model.
