A consignment of two lakh doses of anti-covid vaccine, Covishield, reached Raipur airport from Mumbai on Thursday morning
The fresh consignment of the life-saving jab are meant for third phase of nationwide inoculation drive commencing on May 1 for 18-44 age group.
As per airport authorities, the Indigo flight no 6E5511 carrying 17 cartoons of 1200 vials each reached Raipur airport on Thursday morning. The consignment carries 2 lakh doses of covid vaccines, health development officials said. Meanwhile, it is estimated by the state government that a total of 2.6 lakh doses would be needed to vaccinate the population above the age group 18-44 in the third vaccination drive commencing on Saturday.
About 72% of the total 58.7 lakh people of 45 years and above have been vaccinated so far.
