Even though railways are taking adequate care for passengers' safety during travel on important trains, the catering staff of the pantry car are bent upon to violate rules.
One such case came to fore on late Thursday while the senior officers of Dhanbad Railway division(DRD) started checking the Purushottam express train that runs between Puri to New Delhi at Koderma Junction.
Divisional assistant commercial manager Pankaj Nayan who was checking the train found that all staff including manager of the pantry car attached to this important train were on board this train without travel authority issued by the railways .Divisional spokesman of the (DRD) PK Mishra said , the vendors were imposed a fine of Rs 84,600 in direction on the senior divisional commercial manager of DRD for violating travel rules.
According to Mishra all staff of the pantry car require proper authority to travel. The vendor having the licence to cater on this train has been asked to get a proper authority letter for all staff on board the train .
