Cast House Slag Granulation Plant-10 of Blast Furnace-5 of Bokaro Steel Plant was inaugurated by Atanu Bhowmik, Executive Director (Works). On this occasion, CGM (Refractories) VP Upadhyay, CGM (Blast Furnace) MP Singh, General Manager (CR-Mechanical) TS Ranjan along with other officers and personnel of Blast Furnace and Capital Repair (Mechanical) Department were present. Cast House Slag Granulation Plant-10 is an important unit of Blast Furnace-5 which was functioning since 1995. This granulation process is of dehydrator type, through which work was done to filter water from granules. This system was declared outdated technology.
Members of the team constituted under the leadership of Chief General Manager (Blast Furnace) to revive Cast House Slag Granulation Plant-10 GM (Blast Furnace) H Nigam, GM (Blast Furnace) J Joddar, GM(Blast Furnace) Ranjeet, AGM (Blast Furnace) RN Sahu, AGM (CR-Mechanical) MU Rao, Deputy Manager (CR-Mechanical) Amit Kumar and Assistant Manager (RED) in September, 2021. After a thorough inspection, the team took up the challenge of reviving the process by replacing the worn out structures over a period of 35 days with the operation. Apart from the personnel of Blast Furnace, personnel of Capital Repair Mechanical and RED were also instrumental in carrying out this work. Successfully.
