ECR comes up with map-based goods sheds
For better service of freight, East Central Railway has provided integrated information of map based goods shed on the website of ECR on ecr.indianrailways.gov.in for the convenience of traders. With this, the merchant class can take advantage of this by visiting the website and getting information about warehouse details, location etc. in minutes in just one click. This will prove to be very helpful for the traders. Through this, the merchant class can avail the benefits of railway schemes by booking their goods easily by getting all the information related to the goods sheds located near the cities in East Central Railway jurisdiction in a single click. The Goods Shed Directory lists the warehouses of five divisions of ECR under different headings on the left side. For the details related to the selected warehouse, click on the name of the listed warehouse, which will also be highlighted on the map shown.
Installation ceremonies of Rotary Club
Rotary Club of Jamshedpur Steel City hosted the joint installation ceremonies of three interact clubs - Mount Litera, Sheyn International and RMS Balichela and two Rotaract clubs - NSU (Social Crew) and Community Club on Friday. The meeting was attended by around 10 Rotarians, four Rotarylets, 15 Rotaractors and 25 lnteractors. The dignitaries present included DG Pratim Banerjee, Suchanda Banerjee, district secretary Alokananda Bakshi, charter president Smita Parikh, past president Deepak Dokania, district youth chair Simran Saggu, club president Jalpa Parikh, secretary Jasreen Kaur and joint secretary Shivani Goel. Several school Principals and Moderators were also present.The program included a showcase of various projects executed by the Rotaractors and the Interactors in the past year. As collars and pins were exchanged between the outgoing and the incoming teams, the students exhibited their zeal and passion for community service. DG Pratim administered the oath. One new Rotaract club from Workers College was installed.
Webinar on situation of migrant workers
The pandemic, which struck in March 2020 has shown a grim picture on the woes of women workers during the reverse migration phase across the country. The situation of such migrant workers working under little social protection and livelihood security, especially women is heartbreaking. For more than a year now, the most affected have been migrant labourers from Jharkhand, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha,” said Dr. Joseph Marianus Kujur, Director, Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS), Ranchi during his welcome address on a webinar organized on COVID-19, Migration and Women Workers. Sakshamaa, an initiative of Centre for Catalyzing Change (C3), and XISS Ranchi, have collaborated to organise a webinar on COVID-19, Migration and Women Workers. This webinar is first in the Sakshamaa-XISS Webinar Series 2021. The motive is to improve the socio-economic condition of people from marginalized communities - especially women workers - living in low income states of eastern India.
