Students of the Bhubanananda Orissa School of Engineering (BOSE) here have demanded postponement of their examinations scheduled for Wednesday following detection of three Covid -19 cases in the institute.
Their demand came after three students of the Government engineering school tested positive for the virus. Fearing further spread, they staged protest in front of the main gate.
They have also demanded online examination instead of offline mode. Other demands include sanitisation of college and hostels, testing of other students. Meanwhile, the school authorities have apprised students’ demand to the concerned authorities. “They have demanded postponement of their examination after three students tested positive for the virus.
They have also demanded to conduct test of other students with proper contact tracing. We have made arrangements for a mass testing. We have apprised their demand to the higher authorities,” BOSE Principal Jnana Ranjan Ray said.
Similarly, students at Utkalmani Goapabandhu College of Engineering in Rourkela, UCP Engineering School, Brahmapur and Remuna Polytechnic College demanded on-line examination due to a surge in the Covid-19 cases.
