On the next day of Holi, Bokaro reeled under the severe heat wave on Tuesday. The maximum temperature shot up to 40 degrees Celsius, which was eight notches more than average, making it the hottest day in March for the past few decades.

Roads were deserted since 11 o'clock in the morning. The wind was blowing so hot that people preferred to stay inside their homes.

According to a Met department official, the maximum temperature was around 40 degrees Celsius in combination with 19 per cent of humidity and wind flow around 14 kms per hour.
