Senior advocate Pravat Kumar Patnaik died of Covid on Thursday while undergoing treatment in a Bhubaneswar hospital.
He was 66.This was the second lawyer’s death due to Covid in Puri in two days. On Wednesday, advocate Sesadeva Mishra had passed away. As many as five lawyers of Puri have died of Covid so far. “We are shocked that Covid has hit lawyers in Puri hard,” said Puri Bar Association president Bhagaban Mishra said.Sources said there are still a dozen of lawyers of Puri undertreatment for infection.
