A long pending project of connecting Nuh district in Haryana with the railway line now seems to be fulfilled. The proposal for laying 104 kilometers of new railway line up to Alwar via Delhi-Sohna-Nuh has been approved in the Rail Budget and provisions has also been made in this budget.
Information about this railway project was given by Union Minister Rao Inderjit Singh here on Monday after inaugurating and laying the foundation stone of projects worth about Rs 14 crore.
Singh, inaugurated the foot over bridge (FOB) and an escalator jointly built by the Ministry of Railways and the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) at the Gurugram railway station.
Apart from this, the minister also laid the foundation stone of the underpass to be constructed at Jatauli near Pataudi in Gurugram district in a virtual manner.
Addressing the media persons, the Union Minister said that in this year's budget laid with the general budget, the head of laying a railway line of 104 km length from Delhi To Nuh upto to Alwar will begin soon.
The Union Minister also informed that in this new railway line proposal, a double railway line has also been approved in about 75.2 km from Asthal Bohar to Rewari and electrification of railway line from Garhi Harsaru to Farrukhnagar has also been approved.
“Due to the electrification of rail, the problem of environmental pollution in our region will also be reduced, the minister said.
Referring to the Gurugram railway station, Singh said that the escalator built here is possibly the highest escalator in the railways of the country.
“With the construction of FOB and escalator, people coming to the railway station will be benefited. Escalators and foot-over bridges were being sought by local residents here for a long time”, he added.
