Additional District and Sessions Judge Mohd Ahmed Khan, posted in Fatehpur, was injured when a speeding vehicle rammed into his car in Kaushambi while he was returning from Prayagraj on Thursday night.
Besides Khan, his gunner was also injured in the accident.
The ADJ later alleged that the car was hit with the intention of killing him.
Senior officers later reached the spot to investigate the incident.
Posted as special judge in the POCSO Court of Fatehpur, Khan had gone to Prayagraj for some personal work on Thursday. During his return journey, when his car came near Chakvan crossing of Kokhraj, it was rammed into by a speeding Innova MUV from the driver's side. After the accident, the local residents nabbed the driver of Innova.
In his complaint to the Kokhraj police, the ADJ alleged that his car was hit by the speeding Innova with the intention of killing him. The ADJ mentioned that he had received threats earlier.
During his posting in Bareilly, he and his family were handed out death threats after he rejected the bail of an accused from Kaushambi in December 2020.
