Ranchi Deputy Commissioner (DC), Chhavi Ranjan on Thursday instructed that duty of all doctors will be streamlined to deal with the third wave of COVID-19 or Omicron and no doctor can be exempted from the duty of COVID-19.
Directing the Civil Surgeon, Ranjan said that alternate duty will be imposed in ICU and general ward of all doctors and action will be taken against the doctors who make excuses under disaster management.
In view of the increasing infection of COVID-19, the district administration has come on alert mode. A meeting of the District COVID Task Force was organized on Thursday for adequate preparation. In the meeting held under the chairmanship of the DC and senior officers of all the cells and other concerned officials were present. In the meeting, Ranjan said that the way the doctors had cooperated last time, this time also they came forward in public interest with the same spirit of service. The administration needs your cooperation, he added. He directed the District Transport Officer to run a campaign in all public transport for proper behaviour according to COVID-19. He said that those who violate the guidelines should be punished as per rules. Ranjan said that they have to be fully prepared for the Worst Situation and the way all the cells have worked in coordination so far, it has to be continued in a better way.
In view of the increasing cases of corona infection, he emphasized on increasing the number of tests during the meeting. He asked the concerned cell officer to increase the number of investigations with adequate preparation.
While reviewing the contact tracing cell, the DC directed the concerned officer to work seriously. He said to keep complete details of people who came in contact with positive patients so that they can be chased and tested. While reviewing the work of various cells, he also directed for necessary change of deputation of personnel.
In the meeting, Ranjan directed to make Bundu Sub-Divisional Hospital, Sadar Hospital, Risaldar Baba Urban Community Center, Doranda functional in view of the increasing Covid infection.
In this regard, the Deputy Commissioner gave necessary directions to the Civil Surgeon. He directed the purchase after assessing the need for masks, sanitizers and masks and others. The DC also directed the Civil Surgeon to prepare an adequate number of medical kits.
